NorArm Kandahar Hooded Combat Shirt — Built from Real-World Experience
Some gear is designed in an office. Other gear comes from people who’ve worn it where it matters — and the Kandahar Hooded Combat Shirt from NorArm clearly falls into the second category.
Developed from operational experience in Afghanistan and Iraq, the shirt focuses on solving the practical problems users face in hot, high-tempo environments.
At its core, the Kandahar combines two materials to balance durability and comfort. The sleeves and hood use 50/50 NYCO ripstop a proven military fabric chosen for abrasion resistance. While the torso uses a stretch, fast-drying material designed to breathe under body armour or a plate carrier. The result is a garment that protects exposed areas but stays comfortable during long periods of movement.
Ventilation is a clear priority. Mesh openings under the arms improve airflow, helping manage heat buildup during patrols, training, or summer range days. Unlike traditional combat shirts, NorArm also integrates a full hood made from ripstop fabric, providing protection from sun, wind, dust, and debris without needing an additional garment.
Functionality continues with shoulder pockets accessible from both horizontal and vertical openings, allowing easy access whether standing, prone, or wearing equipment. The shirt can also be paired with optional shock pads for added protection and comfort.
What makes the Kandahar stand out is its philosophy. Rather than just a uniform piece, it’s designed as a field garment something you can train in, operate in, and live in for extended periods. It prioritises mobility, airflow, and practical protection rather than just appearance.
